LVS Foundation proposes a pioneering stepwise research ecosystem, the Cohesive Research Ecosystem (CORE), designed to fill these gaps by fostering intellectual cross-pollination, ensuring clear lines of authority, embedding communities as co-creators of knowledge and globally networked, capable of producing actionable, high integrity knowledge for advocacy and reform.

LVS Foundation standards for rigorous, impartial research and analysis reflect our core values of excellence and objectivity. Evident in both our research processes and outputs, these standards underscore our commitment to delivering high-quality, impactful policy research. We emphasize relevance, transparency, legitimacy, engagement, and inclusion in all our research projects. Framed as commitments to quality-enhancing principles and practices, our standards are mutually reinforcing with intentional overlap and are periodically refined - based on internal and external insights, undergoing a robust and exacting quality-assurance process to avoid conflicts of interest .
Our Research Integrity Committee (RIC) is the epistemic guardian of the Foundation, ensuring all research adheres to the highest standards of methodological rigor, ethical conduct, cross-center integration, and transparency. Independent and multidisciplinary, the RIC wields significant influence over the work of our three Research centers (BRAVE, COMPASS, STRIDE) by establishing, upholding and safeguarding the ethical foundation of research while empowering the centers to pursue innovative, trustworthy, high-impact work - including external advisors from various communities/regions worldwide, and aligned with the Foundation mission - with confidence and credibility. .

A weakening commitment to the core principles that sustain democracy - such as upholding the rights of minorities, protecting space for dissent, and adhering to the rule of law - poses a serious risk to democratic stability worldwide. Recent reports highlight that democratic institutions and safeguards are being systematically undermined in many regions, with governments restructuring civil society, curtailing media freedom, and enacting policies that marginalize vulnerable groups.
This erosion is often accompanied by rising authoritarianism, political interference in the judiciary, and attacks on independent media, all of which diminish accountability and pluralism. The shrinking spaces for critical balances allow executive powers to expand unchecked, threatening the very fabric of democratic governance.
Furthermore, discriminatory legislation and increased repression against minorities are becoming common, undermining the universal values that democracy is built upon. If these trends continue unchecked, they risk entrenching illiberal regimes and destabilizing the global democratic order.
Given the acute challenges of necropolitical governance, endangered democracy, and systematic rights deprivation in the Horn, all of sub-saharan Africa and global hotspots, Liberty Values & Strategy Foundation's structure is uniquely positioned
